About Chaka
Chaka is a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT therapist). BABCP-accreditation is the highest level of recognition of the qualifications and skills of a CBT therapist in the United Kingdom. Chaka holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Salford. Chaka also holds a Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT from the University of Essex. Chaka has been working within psychological therapies in the NHS for the last 3 years and currently works as a CBT therapist for an NHS Trust.
Chaka delivers therapeutic interventions for depression and range of anxiety disorders such as generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic disorder. Chaka also delivers interventions for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), body dysmorphic disorder, skin picking and trichotillomania, low self-esteem and anger management issues. Chaka has a specialist interest in intrusive thoughts OCD.
Chaka’s approach is mainly rooted in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), but also incorporates aspects of compassion focused therapy (CFT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Chaka works collaboratively with clients to create an individualised treatment plan that suits their needs. Chaka offers CBT supervision to trainee and qualified CBT therapists.
