SCROLL DOWN TO LEARN MORE
If you care about someone with BPD you may find it hard to understand their feelings and behaviours. For various reasons, some people seem to experience higher levels of emotional arousal and take longer to return to baseline levels. This can manifest as extreme swings of emotions, and at times self-destructive behaviours. This type of person may jump from one crisis to another because they lack the necessary coping skills. Not only is this extremely difficult for those experiencing the emotional swings, but also for those who live with, or are in close contact with them. It can be challenging to ‘keep up’ with the emotional changes, or know what to say or do to help.
