Creative Arts Therapy is the use of the creative arts as a form of therapy. This form of expressive therapy assumes that people can heal through use of imagination and the process of engaging in creative expression.
Do I need to be good at art to do this therapy?
No, not at all, in Creative Arts Therapy, it is the process of making the art work that is most important and not the finished article. However, some people who are artistically gifted may find this form of therapy useful as this form of expression comes naturally to them.
Our creative therapist, Jenny Collard offers 50 minute sessions on an individual basis at RHCP, and delivers group work for local organisations. If you are interested in Creative Arts Therapy, please contact RHCP.
